The interior design of your home speaks volumes about what you treasure in life. From the photos you choose to display and the books that line your shelves, to the paint colors and furniture that pull each room together. It used to be a challenge to bring your faith into interior design, but with typography and word art being so popular today, expressing your family’s values through the art in your home is now much easier.

Since creating Imperfect Dust’s classic, handcrafted signs and frames, inspired by my desire to bring others closer to God, I have seen how these pieces are the perfect way to bring the wisdom of the Word into the home in an approachable, tasteful way.

As one of my favorite verses says, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart… You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” - Deuteronomy 6:5-6

The classic, rustic design and neutral colors make it easy to find a piece that matches your interior design. Don’t see something you love? I’d love to chat - you can request a custom piece, here!

So, let’s get to it! Here are a few of my favorite ways I like to anchor my home in the Word and scatter reminders of God’s love throughout each space.

#1 Have you been thinking of creating a picture wall? Include a hymn frame in the collage to complement your favorite shots.

#2 Commission a custom sign to place in your children’s bedroom. Perhaps this is a favorite line from the readings or a comforting prayer. These pieces are more than decorations - you will speak life to your kiddos through scripture on their walls.
#3 Place Bibles, prayer books, or daily devotionals on coffee tables, in bathroom baskets, and on bedside tables. By making them easily accessible, you never know who might be likely to pick one up and be touched by the Word.
#4 Welcome guests into your home with a sign in your entryway that shares how faith guides your family.
#5 Hang this sign in your bathroom as a practical yet clever reminder to wash up and send praise up to the Father.

Bonus idea: Turn on your favorite Christian music playlist or station and let it fill your house with the hymns and praises of the season. This is a beautiful, subtle way to make the Word a part of your get-togethers, family dinners, or a simple afternoon spent cleaning your kitchen.

Home is where great stories begin… shouldn’t the greatest story ever told be a part of it? I hope these ideas help you create a faith-filled, inspiring space for important conversations, connections, and great stories to begin.
